When the upper lip sweats

When you wake up and the upper lip is already sweating, that's when you know it'll be a hot one. Hot one, indeed. Hello Seattle at its finest hour! I woke up this morning and discovered that my duvet and I had engaged in quite the late night battle. I won. Duvet on floor.

I tuned into KEXP for my daily John in the Morning program (make a donation now! www.kexp.org) and learned that today is going to reach 88 degrees. Come again...?

Apparently Chris had learned the hard way. He was face down on his bed in jeans after what looked like the same kind of battle that I won last night. Comforter in corner. Being the sweet roommate that I am, I tried to spray him with my water bottle. His reaction was like that of a cat being scolded - except instead of hissing at me he used naughty words. I'm so, so sorry. No I'm not.

Like a love affair gone wrong, perhaps Seattle enjoyed its short tryst with spring, but is looking for something a little...hotter? A little lustier? In walks summer, the girl we all love to hate. Bring on the heat, the morning sweat, and of course the barbecues!
